DV-1 Discovery System Functional Capabilities

Integrated Seismic and Well Logging Data Interpretation System

DV-1 Discovery System is an interactive fast and flexible software tool for a detailed analysis of 3D seismic data in combination with well logging data, thus allowing a detailed geological model of the subsurface to be built.

DV-1 Discovery offers the following capabilities:

  • Working with SEGY seismic data cubes (data volumes) and profiles
  • Real-time dynamic viewing of data as any type of cross-sections (regular, arbitrary, arbitrarily-oriented, amplitude-slices, chair, corner, etc.)
  • Working with crooked-line and composite line profile data
  • Working concurrently with multiple data cubes (time cube, coherency cube, sedimentation cube, acoustic impedance log cube, etc.). The user may load as many as 16 different data cubes
  • Comparison of slices from different data cubes and profile versions
  • Manual and automatic correlation of horizons
  • Construction of isochron maps along horizons
  • Interpretation of faults
  • Generation of parameter attribute maps (dips, azimuths, acoustic impedance, average amplitudes, etc.)
  • Generation of parameter attribute cubes (instantaneous phase, instantaneous amplitude, instantaneous frequency, derivatives of the first and second order, etc.)
  • Well data visualization
  • Integrated interpretation of seismic and well logging data:

- Joint analysis
- Seismic modeling
- Creation of seismic vs. logging parameter correlation dependencies

  • Creation of log montage displays
  • Paleo-reconstruction
  • Sedimentation analysis
  • Paleo-tectonics analysis
  • Correlation analysis
  • Seismic inversion:
    - Seismic to acoustic impedance log conversion
    - Stochastic inversion
  • Use of neural networks to predict geologic parameters:
    - Construction of prediction maps
    - Generation of predicted-parameter cubes and profiles
  • Post-processing of data cubes and profiles
  • Conversion of seismic data cubes, profiles and interpretations to depth
  • Import/export of interpretation targets (horizons, faults, wells, subsurface target boundaries, etc.) for linking to other interpretation systems
  • Direct two-way interface with DV-Geo database
  • Image hardcopy output
